Pros:

-Ridgid

-Several colors and finishes

-Fairly easy to print with as long as you have the prerequisites

-Lighter

-Reasonable cost even compared to normal PETG

Cons:

-Can only order them online

-Carbon reinforced filament is more corse and needs hardened hot end and extruder gears

-Will need to make sure you have an enclosed printer that can reach the right temps and maintain it in an enclosure

-More Brittle

-Companies own sight does not acknowledge the existence of the filament, but it does show on other sites

Review-

This was my first time printing with a carbon fiber enforced filament. I know carbon fiber is strong and light and it can be interesting to deal with. I think that the only thing I can really say in this case is that as long as you have a printer that can deal with the temperatures, this filament was like printing with any other PETG!

Prior to starting my test prints and seeing the end results, I had already installed a hardened metal hot end and hardened extruder gears into my Bambu Labs P1S. If you have the P1S, this is literally all you need other than do! In general, you will need a printer that can do 300C on the hot end, 80C on the bed and be in an enclosure to maintain consistent temperatures.

From the very first print, it went off without a hitch! In an admittedly humid AMS system(which I have since resolved) all 3 test prints came out with no fuss. There was some spattering as expected with a humid environment, but little stringing and it even did fairly well on the overhang test! The keen eyed among you may also see some issues on the cone test as well as the benchy above which was likely an issue with the material getting stuck to the hot end. I will likely need to look into different hot end and nozzle combos in the future to really work out those kinks, but I will add updates to that over time.

Overall, the filament came out feeling surprisingly light with a matte finish. It felt and looked very similar to graphite that you would see in a wooden pencil. It seemed to add quite a bit of toughness to the filament as it did take more work to break it but was not nearly as flexible as standard PETG. I would definitely recommend this filament to someone wanting to try out a new material and explore the properties of a carbon infused filament, but if you are shopping for a carbon fiber filament from the start and you are looking for something more structural, I would probably recommend to look into a stronger base than PETG to get the full effect.
